Living All For Jesus

Jesus said, "Those of you who do not give up everything you have cannot be my disciples." (Luke 14:33) Jesus' claim on our lives is all encompassing, we are called to use all that we have and are in his service and for his Kingdom. But ultimately this sacrifice is no sacrifice at all, for we as we loose our life we find it, and as we give we receive.

For 5 weeks from January 15th to February 12th we are going to take an in depth look at what living all for Jesus means, and the temporal and eternal benefits we receive for living all for Jesus. We'll look at what it looks like to give of our life, our passion, our time, our gifts and our material resources to the Lord for the establishment of what the Bible calls the "Kingdom of God."

Holy to the Lord (Jan 15, 2012)

If you hear someone called a “holy man” what comes to mind? A sinless saint? A weird guru who lives on top of a mountain? A self righteous prig? None of these stereotypes come close to what the Bible means by “holy”. To grasp the biblical concept, and its extremely practical application to our lives, we first need to understand the holiness of God. Then we need to understand what it means to be God’s holy people. Once you “get it” you’ll be amazed, and perhaps a little frightened!

Holy Time & Talents (Jan 22, 2012)

The Bible says, “None of us lives for ourselves alone, and none of us dies for ourselves alone. If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.” In another place it says, “You are not your own, for you were bought with a price.” What does it mean that we aren’t our own but that we belong to the Lord? How does that change how we think? How we live? For more amazing discoveries about holiness, don’t miss this teaching!

Holy Treasures (Jan 29, 2012)

Christians claim that Jesus is our Lord, but do we live like he’s the one in charge of our lives? What if he claims that all our money and all our stuff is actually his?! (By the way, he does make that claim!) A very simple Biblical principle can help free us from bondage to money and materialism, deepen our love for the Lord, and release his provision in our lives. By the end of this teaching we’ll understand that powerful principle.

Insuring a Welcome (Feb 5, 2012)

One of the most perplexing parables Jesus told is the one of the unfaithful steward in Luke 16. Jesus seems to commend the unscrupulous business practices of this crooked servant. Yet the story gives us amazing insights into how we are to use our money (or, more accurately, God’s money on loan to us) in the wisest way possible. By the end of this teaching, you’ll finally understand Jesus’ bewildering story and, more importantly, you’ll grasp some sound biblical principles for handling earthly wealth.

The Test of Faithfulness (Feb 12, 2012)

Do you long to be greatly used by God? Do you want riches in your life that can’t even be taken away by death? God is lovingly testing all of us to see if we will be faithful so that he can entrust more to us. God, in his grace, will work through any willing person, but he can work more fully through those who have been found trustworthy. In this teaching we’ll look at a key test, and be challenged to prove faithful!
