Our Beliefs in BriefThere is only one God, who exists eternally as a Trinity of three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Each member of the Trinity is fully God, yet each is personally distinct from the other. The Bible (both Old and New Testaments) is the Word of God, written by men who were inspired by the Holy Spirit to write down exactly what God wanted to communicate to us. Jesus Christ is the Son of God and was crucified and died on the cross, was resurrected from the dead and ascended to heaven. Someday, he will return to Earth to conclude history and fulfill God's plan.

The Holy Spirit comes to live within a person once they cross the line of faith. He gives us power to live as God wants us to live, and gives us spiritual gifts to serve the Church and change the world. Men and women were created by God to live in relationship with him. Yet, the first two humans, Adam and Eve, chose to rebel against God bringing sin into the world. Sin spread like a virus to all humans, separating us from God. Jesus Christ died on the cross to pay for our sins. It is only through faith in Jesus Christ - not by being a good person or doing good deeds - that a person can be restored to a right relationship with God. |
Our Beliefs in DetailOne God - We believe that there is one living and true God, who exists in three persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, equal in power and glory; that this triune God created all, upholds all, and governs all. (Matthew 28:19; Isaiah 40:28; Isaiah 46:8-11, 1Timothy 6:15, Revelation 17:14) God the Father- We believe in God the Father, an infinite, personal Spirit, perfect in holiness, justice, wisdom, power, and love; that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men; that He hears and answers prayer; and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ. (Matthew 6:9; Isaiah 6:3; Romans 11:33-39; Psalms 138:5-6; Matthew 7:11; Isaiah 55:6-7) God the Son- We believe in Jesus Christ, God's only begotten son, conceived by the Holy Spirit, and born of the virgin Mary. We believe in his sinless life, his miracles and teachings, his substitutionary atoning death, his bodily resurrection, his ascension into heaven to the right hand of the Father, and his perpetual intercessions for his people. We believe that in his first coming to earth, Jesus inaugurated the fulfillment of the Kingdom of God. We also believe in Jesus’ personal, visible, second coming to earth when the Kingdom of this World will fully become the Kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ. (John 1:14-18; Luke 1:18-20; Hebrews 4:15; Romans 5:8; 1Corinthians 15:1-8; Ephesians 1:20; 1Thessalonians 4:16; Mark 1:14-15; Acts 1:11; Matthew 25:31; Revelation 11:15) God the Holy Spirit- We believe in the Holy Spirit, whose ministry is to glorify the Son; who was sent by the Father and Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and to regenerate, sanctify, and empower for godly living and ministry all who believe in Christ; we believe the Holy Spirit indwells every believer in Jesus Christ and that he is an abiding Helper, Teacher, and Guide. (John 14:26; 16:8; Titus 3:5; Acts 1:8; Romans 8:9, Ephesians 1:13; John 14:16; 1Corinthians 12:4-11) The Scriptures- We believe that the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the Word of God, fully inspired by Him, and the infallible rule of faith and practice; and that they are to be interpreted according to their context and purpose and in reverent obedience to the Lord who speaks through them in living power. (2Timothy 3:14-17; Romans 15:4; James 1:22) |
Regeneration- We believe that all people are sinners by nature and choice and are therefore under the judgment of God. Those who repent of their sins and confess Jesus Christ as Lord are given new and eternal life by God through the Lord Jesus. We believe that salvation is found in no one else, and that no one can come to God the Father except through Jesus His Son. We believe all Christians have received the Holy Spirit, and that all can experience the fullness of the Spirit's work – the gifts, the fruit and the power of the Spirit that is theirs in Christ Jesus. (Ephesians 2:1-10; Acts 2:38; Acts 4:12; Romans 6:1-4; Ezekiel 36:26; John 1:12-13; John 10:9; John 14:6; Romans 8:9-10; Romans 10:8-13) The Church- We believe in the One Universal Church, the living spiritual body of which Christ is the Head and all regenerated persons are members. We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ. (1Corinthians 12:12-13; Ephesians 2:19-22; Ephesians 4:3-6; 1Peter 2:4-5) The Resurrection- We believe in the resurrection of all men and women to a final judgment; the eternal life and blessing of those righteous in Christ, and the eternal death of those who reject Christ. (1Corinthians 15:20-24; Revelations 20:11; 21:8) The Apostles Creed We affirm the truths set forth in the Apostles Creed... I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen. |
