Dear Parents,
Children in the 7-12 year old classroom will be starting a new curriculum called “All Stars For Jesus Explorers Bible Club.” This curriculum will teach your kids solid Christian values and how to make right choices based on God’s word. The theme verse for this program is: “Shine as lights in the world: holding forth the word of life.” –Philippians 2:15-16
Your children will be learning about many different stories in the bible, including:
They will also have an opportunity to memorize scriptures related to these stories and to choose a prize from the “treasure chest” for memorizing a certain number of scriptures.
In addition, the children will be participating in the EACHKIDS program (see www.eachtoday.com). They will learn this curriculum at the same time as thousands of other children across metro Detroit! At the end of this 4 week series (culminating on Easter Sunday) the kids will receive a special gift along with all of the other children taking part in this program! The curriculum for EACHKIDS is:
Lesson 1: God created us to be His friend.
Lesson 2: God made a way to be His friend.
Lesson 3: It’s AWESOME to be God’s friend!
Lesson 4: God wants us to tell our friends.
We have begun a new curriculum with the 2- 6-year-old children. This curriculum is called “In the Beginning: Jumping Into God’s Story” by Promiseland. This is a bible-based curriculum geared toward young learners that makes learning the bible fun! The kids are following a sequential view of God’s story from the Bible throughout the year.
We will also be starting a new curriculum in our home churches. The children will be listening to the Adventures in Odyssey Audio Dramas and then will participate in a discussion related to what they learned following the story. This series is entitled “Bible Eyewitness.” Some of the stories they will hear are:
Cain and Abel
Jacob and Esau
Joseph and his brothers
Joshua and the battle of Jericho
Samson and Delilah
Ruth
Queen Esther
The Fiery Furnace
The Birth of Jesus
John the Baptist
Jesus’ death and Resurrection
Alternating with the “Adventure’s in Odyssey Bible Eyewitness” series the children will be participating in lessons based on “The Ultimate DVD Bible Story Collection.” Lessons will include:
Awesome Animals in the Bible
Awesome Stories of Faith
Awesome Heroes in the Bible
Awesome Kids in the Bible
Awesome Mysteries in the Bible
Children will also learn songs such as: Amazing Grace, Father Abraham, Deep and Wide, Noah’s Arky, Arky, Your Word is a Lamp, Isn’t He Wonderful, He’s Got The Whole World in His Hands and many more!
